This policy explains how Farsee (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit farsee.co.uk, contact us, or work with us. We are the data controller for this information under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address, and anything else you choose to tell us through our contact and project forms, including optional phone number, company, website and attachments.
- Newsletter: your email address and the date you confirmed your subscription.
- Clients: contact and billing details needed to deliver and invoice our work.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser details are recorded with form submissions to help prevent spam and abuse.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project (legitimate interests, or steps before entering a contract).
- To deliver and invoice work we have agreed to do (contract and legal obligation).
- To send our newsletter, only if you have confirmed you want it (consent).
- To keep our website secure and free from spam (legitimate interests).
We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted processors to run our business, such as our website host, email provider and accounting software. They only process data on our instructions. Where any of them store data outside the UK, appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement are in place.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Client and billing records: six years after the end of our work together, as required by UK tax law.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. You can withdraw consent for the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. To make a request, email us using the address at the bottom of this page. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
