Questions and answers

Straight answers to the things people most often ask before starting a website, app or AI project. If yours is not here, email us and we will answer it, then probably add it.

Working together

Who will I actually be working with?

The developer who builds your project. There are no account managers or hand-offs: the person on your first call is the person writing the code and answering your emails.

Is Farsee a new business?

Yes. Farsee is a newly launched web development and AI solutions studio, so we do not yet have client case studies to show. Instead, you can try working demos of the kinds of things we build, read exactly how we run projects, and speak directly to the developer who would build yours. Every project has a fixed written quote, so you know the cost before you commit.

Do you work with businesses outside London?

Yes. We work with clients all over the UK, mostly by video call and email, and can meet in person for larger projects. We also work with UK-based companies that have customers abroad.

Will I own the code and the website?

Yes, completely. Code lives in a repository in your name, and domains, hosting and third-party accounts are registered to you. If you ever want to move to another developer, everything they need is already yours.

Can you work with our existing developer or agency?

Yes. We regularly pick up part of a larger project, fill a gap in a team, or take over when someone moves on. We are happy to work to existing standards and processes.

How long does a typical project take?

A business website usually takes three to six weeks, an online shop three to ten, and the first release of a web application six to sixteen. Your proposal includes a week-by-week plan.

Pricing and payment

How much does a website cost?

Small business websites usually cost between £1,500 and £5,000. Online shops start around £2,500, and web applications from £6,000. Every project gets a fixed written quote before any work starts, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay.

How do payments work?

Fixed-price projects are usually paid in three stages: 30% to book the work, 40% at an agreed midpoint, and 30% at launch. Care plans are billed monthly in advance. We never ask for the full amount up front.

What if I want to change something halfway through?

That is normal. Small changes are absorbed. If a change adds real work, we tell you the cost and the effect on the timeline before doing it, and you decide.

How accurate is the online cost estimator?

The estimator gives an indicative range for a typical project of the type and size you choose. It is not a quote. Your fixed price comes after a short call, once we understand the details, and it is set out in writing before any work starts. You can send your estimate with a project brief so we start from the same numbers.

Are there any ongoing costs?

Usually hosting (typically £10–£40 a month for a business site), your domain, and any paid tools you choose. Every quote lists running costs separately so there are no surprises. A care plan is optional.

Technical

Which technologies do you use?

We choose to suit the job. Most web applications are built with Laravel and PHP, online shops on Shopify, Android apps in Kotlin and Windows software in .NET. All are mainstream and well supported, so you are never dependent on us.

Will my website be good for search engines?

Technical SEO is part of every build: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, sitemaps and correct redirects from an old site. Ranking also depends on content and reputation, and we will advise honestly on both.

Can you move my shop to Shopify without losing sales?

Yes. We move products, customers and order history, keep or redirect every URL so search rankings carry over, and switch over at a quiet time. Most migrations are invisible to customers.

Do you build iPhone apps?

Our focus is Android and Windows. Where a project needs iOS as well, we can build with a cross-platform framework such as Flutter, or recommend a trusted iOS specialist to work alongside us.

AI solutions

What kind of AI solutions do you build?

Practical tools that take a specific, repetitive job off someone’s desk: assistants that answer questions from your own documents, systems that read emails, orders or PDFs and file the details, tools that draft replies or reports for staff to check, and search that understands what customers mean. Each one is built around your own data and processes.

Can you add AI to my existing website or software?

Usually, yes. Most AI features connect to an existing website, online shop or internal tool through an API, so you do not need a new system and your team keeps working in the software they already know.

How do you keep our data safe when using AI?

We send AI providers only the information a feature needs, choose providers whose terms do not allow your data to be used for training, and explain in writing where data is processed and how long it is kept. Sensitive decisions stay with a person, and every AI feature logs what it did so it can be checked.

How much does an AI project cost?

It depends on the task and how much of your data is involved, so we quote after a free discovery call. Many projects start with a small, fixed-price pilot tested on your real data, so you can judge the results before committing to a full build. AI services also charge by usage, and every proposal includes an estimate of monthly running costs.

Does my business actually need AI?

Not always. If a task follows clear rules, ordinary software is cheaper and more reliable. AI helps most with messy, text-heavy work such as reading, sorting and drafting. We will tell you honestly which applies to your problem, even if the answer is that you do not need AI.

After launch

What happens after launch?

Every project includes 30 days of free fixes. After that you can choose a monthly care plan, book changes as and when you need them, or look after things yourself using the handover notes we provide.

Can you fix a site or app someone else built?

Usually, yes. We start with a short paid audit to understand the code and hosting, then give you a clear list of what needs doing, what it costs and what can wait.

How quickly do you respond to problems?

Care plan clients get a response within four working hours for anything urgent, and usually much faster. Everyone else gets a reply within one working day.

Still have a question?

Ask it directly. You will get a straight answer from the person who would do the work, usually the same day.
